Friends and Colleagues,
Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you’ll find all of the information you need to vote for me to represent Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Puerto Rico as the District X Chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
As many of you know, I have devoted many years of time, energy, and service to the AAP – first as an active, enthusiastic, and committed member, and then as an elected officer. In both capacities, it is our work together and commitment to each other that has put me there. I am most grateful for your continued support.
I hope you’ll take some time and browse my website and learn about my candidacy. Here are 4 great reasons to elect me, at a glance:
1. I have the experience to hit the ground running.
For the last 3 years, thanks to your votes, I have served as District X Vice Chair – which means that I’ve worked closely with the District Chair on District activities and have met regularly with the District Chairs/AAP Board of Directors in person and on conference calls. I am ready to serve as your District Chair.
2. My Goal Is A Good One.
Put simply, my goal is to increase the value of the AAP and its State Chapters to the AAP membership. Chapter membership should be useful and meaningful – and I’ll continue to work to to fulfill members’ expectations – educationally, clinically and fiscally.
3. I Am Focused on Your Practical Needs & Priorities.
I have assisted the AAP leadership in adopting the CDC Private Sector Immunization price list methodology as their official language for third party contracting. I co-chair the AAP committee bringing together the six major vaccine manufacturers, the FDA, CDC, and other organizations to aid pediatricians in vaccine management.
4. I Am Invested in the AAP’s Work.
My major AAP Activities have focused on practice management. I have served as state coding trainer, and lectured nationally and locally on practice management and strategic planning. I founded the Florida Chapter Pediatric Council. I have served on AAP Committees including SOAPM executive and Committee on Child Health Financing.
Again – thank you for visiting and for voting for me to become the AAP’s District X Chair. I am always available to discuss my candidacy and to hear your thoughts and ideas regarding the AAP’s work. Please feel free to use the contact information below to get in touch!
